Marvin Cohen, Founder of Noctilio
My name is Marvin Cohen. I'm a web developer, trained at Le Wagon Bordeaux, and a dad. It's that second role that pushed me to create Noctilio.
Like many parents, I've lived through those evenings spent searching for the perfect story, captivating enough for the child to fall asleep smiling, gentle enough not to wind them up further. I wanted something personalised, with my child's name, their favourite characters, a world that looks like them. Store-bought books do their job very well, but they don't know your child.
The idea came about simply: what if AI could generate, every evening, a unique story centred on your child? With their name as the hero, their interests as the backdrop, and a soothing ending that helps them drift off to sleep.
I started building Noctilio solo in early 2026, as my first Rails project after my training. What I wanted to build: a tool I'd have loved to have as a parent, simple, fast, beautiful and safe for children.
The name comes from the Latin nox (night) and the owl, the emblematic animal of bedtime stories, guardian of dreams in mythologies around the world.
Noctilio is built with:
Stories are not stored on OpenAI's side after generation. Each call is independent, no personal data about your children is kept by the AI models.
Do you have a question, a suggestion, or do you just want to share how Noctilio has changed your bedtime routine?
